CAROLYN FAYE HOUCHENS
Carolyn Faye Houchens, 66, of Charlottesville died Wednesday, November 12, 2008,
at Heritage Hall. Born April 18, 1942, in Albemarle County, Virginia, she was
the daughter of the late Eugene Collier and Mable Ruby Morris Collier. Surviving
her are two daughters, Melissa Houchens Farwell and her husband, Jason, of
Portsmouth, Virginia, and Kristen Leigh Houchens and her fianc?, Darren, of
Charlottesville; two grandchildren, Ella Farwell and Jesse Farwell; her former
husband, James L. Houchens, the owner of Ernie's Frys Spring Garage, of
Charlottesville; and three special friends, Linda D. Taylor, Anita D.
Fitzgerald, and Rita Rahman. Services will be private. The family suggests that
any desired memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 2200 Old
Ivy Road, Suite 2, Charlottesville, VA 22903.

CONNIE W. HOUCHENS
Mrs. Connie Faye Woodson Houchens, 22, of Route 1 Box 274, Crozet, died April 5,
1984, in Charlottesville. She was born Aug. 17, 1961, in Albemarle County,
daughter of Mrs. Carolyn Woodson and the late Purcell Woodson. In addition to
her mother she is survived by one daughter, Angela Marie Houchens; one son,
Johathan Neil Houchens; both of Crozet; two brothers, Purcell Woodson Jr., Tony
Vaton Woodson and one sister, Tracy Woodson, all of Crozet. Graveside funeral
service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rockgate Cemetery, Crozet. The Rev. Hercel
Daniels will officiate. Hill and Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DENISE ELAINE HOUCHENS
Denise Elaine Houchens, 42, of Broadway, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 14,
2002, at home. Denise was born July 11, 1960, in Charlottesville, the daughter
of Dorothy Deane Shifflett of Stanardsville and Bernard Houchens and stepmother,
Norma, of West River, Md. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her
dearly beloved daughters, Ashley and Jennifer Robinson of Richmond; grandmother,
Addie Deane of Madison; sisters, Patricia and husband, Bradley Rosedale, of Penn
Laird; Gail Mawyer of Ruckersville, Sandi Shifflett of Stanardsville, Debra and
husband, Chuck Smith, Sheryl and husband, Bill Anderson, and Shelly Houchens,
all of West River, Md.; brothers, Wesley Houchens and Mike Frazier, both of West
River, Md.; two nieces; and ten nephews. Denise was valedictorian of her
graduating class at William Monroe High School, Stanardsville, in 1978. She
graduated from James Madison University in 1982 as a Registered Nurse with a
bachelor's of Science degree. For this past year she was employed by Schewel
Furniture Co. if Harrisonburg. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m.
Sunday at Mt. Hermon Mennonite Church, Rt. 634, Stanardsville. The burial will
be at Mt. Hermon Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from
7 to 9 p.m. Saturday evening at Preddy Funeral Home, Rt. 230, Madison.

LILLIE M. HOUCHENS
Lillie Morris Houchens, 86, of Charlottesville, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at
a local hospital. Born June 3, 1912, in Albemarle County, she was the daughter
of late Flander Morris and Judy Powell Morris. She is survived by her daughter,
Pearl Marshall and her husband, Vernie of Charlottesville; five grandchildren
and their spouses, Helen Marshall of Charlottesville, Ethel and Bill Hutchinson,
Steve and Shirley Irving of Gordonsville, Rachel and Tommie Collier, and Melvin
and Teresa Marshall of Crozet; two step-grandchildren, Jimmie and Linda Marshall
of Scottsville and Kenny Marshall of Barboursville; 16 great-grandchildren,
Stefanie, Alisha, Nikki, Steven, Mandy, Butch, Christy, Shannon, Eric, Stacey,
Allen, Ben, Sonny, Kevin, Teresa and Danny; three great-great-grandchildren,
Jack, Kevin and Corey; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will
be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Hill & Wood Funeral Home with
the Rev. John Chafee officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be the great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends
this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

LILLIE WILSON HOUCHENS
Lillie Wilson Houchens, 82, of Charlottesville, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006,
at her home with her family at her side. She was born January 11, 1924, in
Albemarle County, the daughter of the late James Samuel and Bertha Shiflett
Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Houchens
Sr.; and her brother, James "Jimmy" Samuel Wilson. Lillie was a long time member
of Belmont Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She
will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Benjamin, and his wife, Sue
Houchens, of Crozet; a daughter, Shirley, and her husband, Stephen Vernon, of
Dyke, three granddaughters, Amanda Clemmer, Samantha Houchens and Heather
Houchens; two stepgrandsons; Anthony and Christopher Vernon; a sister, Gladys
and her husband, Edward Sacre Sr.; and a special niece and nephew, Linda Vogt
and Ed Sacre Jr. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2006,
at Belmont Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg Anderson officiating. Interment
will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Belmont
Baptist Church from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006. Thanks to the
Hospice of the Piedmont and to her caregiver, Deborah Hill. Memorial
contributions may be made to Belmont Baptist Church, 830 Monticello Avenue,
Charlottesville, VA 22902 or to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 2200 Old Ivy Road,
