ARTIS WAYNE KEYTON SR.
Artis Wayne Keyton Sr., 48, of Charlottesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at
a local hospital. Born July 19, 1956, in Charlottesville, he was the son of the
late George Robert Keyton Jr. and Minnie Shifflett Gentry. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Miller. Survivors include
his wife of 30 years, Linda Keyton of Charlottesville; a son, Artis Wayne Keyton
Jr.; a daughter, Melinda Kaye Moon, both of Charlottesville, two brothers,
Dallas Jones and Donnie Miller, both of Springfield; and two grandchildren,
Kristina Sprouse and Christopher Sprouse. Funeral services will be held at 11
a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at the Hill & Wood Funeral Chapel with the Rev.
Ronnie Sipe officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. The
family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at the
funeral home.

DONALD RAY KEYTON
Donald Ray Keyton "Bobo", 58, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017. He was
born on July 6, 1959, in Charlottesville, Va. He was preceded in death by his
father, Raymond Keyton; sister, Audrey Keyton; and a brother, Ronald Keyton. He
is survived by his mother, Dolly Cason and her husband, John Cason of
Charlottesville; a sister, Shelby Morris of Standardsville; a brother, Ricky
Keyton and wife, Pam Keyton of Crozet; a son, Steven Gardner; a daughter, Amanda
Keyton, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who all loved him
dearly; and his partner in crime for many years, Buddy, his beloved dog. Bobo
was an animal lover who enjoyed fishing, but above all he enjoyed spending time
and making memories with his friends and family. He was very well known and
loved by many. Family and friends night will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018,
from 4 until 7 p.m. at McCutcheon's Funeral Home in Waynesboro. A graveside
service will be held Friday, January 5, 2018, 1 p.m. at Prize Hill Cemetery.

EARL PRICE KEYTON
Earl Price Keyton, 67, of Charlottesville, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the
Martha Jefferson Hospital. Born June 12, 1938, in Albemarle County, he was a son
of the late David Lewis Keyton and Minnie Coleman Keyton. Mr. Keyton is survived
by his long time companion and caretaker, Lisa Gentry of Charlottesville; two
sons, Eric Keyton of Charlottesville, Ray Keyton; one daughter, Wanda Keyton;
two brothers, Dickkie Keyton and his wife, Mildred of Upperville, Paul Keyton of
Charlottesville; three sisters, Margaret Hill of Winchester, Betty Eppard and
her husband, Bill of Charlottesville, Jean Reese and her husband, Larry, of
Charlottesville. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Keyton; and
a sister, Josephine M. Farrish. A graveside funeral service will be held 11.
a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, at Mt. Eagle Baptist Church in Albemarle County with
the Rev. Sydney Craig officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 until
8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006, at the Preddy Funeral Home, Gordonsville. They
wish to thank Dr. Hammond, Dr. Chesler and nurse, Rebecca, at the Martha
Jefferson Hospital for their comfort during his illness.

FORREST HENREY KEYTON
The funeral for Forrest Henrey Keyton, 73, of Harrisonburg will be conducted 11
am. Tuesday at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Smucker and
the Rev. Dwight Roth. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with
military rites by Rion-Bowman Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 632 and military
personnel from Ft. Belvoir. Mr. Keyton died Friday night at Rockingham Memorial
Hospital. He had been in failing health two years and had been ill five months.
He was born July 29, 1900 in Dayton and was a son of the late William J. and
Lydia Ann Blosser Keyton. He was a retired painting contractor and a member of
the Mennonite Church. He served In the Army during both world wars. He was a
member of the Rion-Bowman VFW, Hose Co. 4 and the United Commercial Travelers.
Mr. Keyton was twice married. On Jan. 26, 1922 he married the late Lillian
Huffman, and on March 10, 1946 he married the former Goldie Humphrey, who
survives. Also surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Barbara Kibler of Rt. 6,
Harrisonburg, Mrs. Betty Southers, Mrs. Nellie Allman, Mrs. Linda Roach and Mrs.
Evelyn Roach, all of Harrisonburg, Mrs. Juanita Worsley of Silver Spring, Md.
and Mrs. Mabel Carter of Smithfield; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Oliver and Mrs.
Catherine Gentry, both of McGaheysville, and Mrs. Mary Miller and Mrs.
Evangeline Hopkins, both of Hartsvllle, Ohio; three brothers, Samuel Keyton of
Woodsboro, Md., Virgil Keyton of Hartsville, Ohio and Walter Keyton of Manassas,
and 15 grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7 —8 p.m. today at the
Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home.
FRANCES BELLE KEYTON LAPOLE
Frances
B. Lapole, 85, of 412 Reynolds Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 1997,
at Colton Villa Nursing Center. Born in Harrisonburg, Va., she was the daughter
of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Schulley Keyton. She was a member of Hagerstown
Church of the Brethren. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Russell M.
Lapole; two daughters, Dorothy M. Baker and Shirley Y. Smith, both of
Hagerstown; two sons, James Swartz of Baltimore and Raymond Swartz of
Hagerstown; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Irene
Neville; and three brothers, William Keyton, Clarence Keyton, and Roy Keyton.

JOHN WILLIAM KEYTON
JOHN W. KEYTON, 70, 541 Ridge Avenue, died Tuesday morning at the Washington
County Hospital. Born in Harrisonburg, Va., he was the son of the late Elmer and
Elizabeth Schulley Keyton. He was a member of the Brotherhood of the Railroad
Trainmen and attended the Maranatha Brethren Church. He is survived by his wife,
Hilda Gaynell Keyton; one daughter, E. Louise Anthony, Hagerstown; two sons,
Charles W. Keyton, San Diego, Ca.; and Robert L. Keyton, Springfield, Ohio; one
step-daughter, Barbara A. Boward, Hagerstown; six grandchildren and one
step-granddaughter; brother, Clarence Keyton, Hagerstown; sisters, Mrs. Francis
Lapole and Mrs. Irene Neville , both of Hagerstown. Services were held at the
Rest Haven Funeral Chapel; interment was in Rest Haven Cemetery.

LEROY KEYTON
LEROY KEYTON,
56, of 603 Wise Street, died suddenly at his home Friday. He was born in
Harrisburg, Va., the son of Elmer W. and Elizabeth E. Johnson Keyton. He was a
veteran of World War II, serving in the US Air Force. He was last employed as a
painter. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy L. Hudson Keyton; two
daughters, Miss Mary E. Keyton and Miss Catherine Keyton, both of Hagerstown;
one son, Clarence l. Keyton, Hagertown; two sisters, Mrs. Irene L. Neville and
Mrs. Frances B. Lapole, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, John W. Keyton and
Clarence E. Keyton, both of Hagerstown; and one grandchild. Services were held
at the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel; burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Margaret Moore Shifflett, 82, of Charlottesville, passed away on Tuesday, March
18, 2014. Born March 17, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George and
Minnie Keaton. She is survived by her husband, Cecil Shifflett; two sons,
Michael Ricky Huff and his fiancée Bonnie Carter, and Dennis Maurice Collier;
and a sister, Elnora Lam (Marvin). A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m.

MINNIE COLEMAN KEYTON
Minnie Coleman Keyton, 90, of Charlottesville, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at a
local nursing home. Born April 16, 1909, in Albemarle County, and was a daughter
of the late James Coleman and Verona Batten Coleman. She was the wife of the
late David L. Keyton. She is survived by four daughters, Jean Reese and her
husband, Larry, of Palmyra, Dot Thompson of Lexington Park, Md., Margaret Hill
and her husband James, of Stephenson, and Betty Eppard and her husband Bill, of
Charlottesville; four sons, Dickie Keyton and his wife, Mildred, of Upperville,
Earl Keyton and his wife, Lisa, and Paul Keyton, all of Charlottesville, and
Raymond Keyton of Troy; two sisters, Lucy Bowling of Spotsylvania, and Olie

PHYLLIS ANN JONES KEYTON
Phyllis Ann Jones Keyton, 58, of Charlottesville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27,
2005, in a local hospital. Born March 18, 1947, in Albemarle County, she was the
daughter of Virginia Burnley Jones Marshall of Charlottesville and the late
Eugene Edward Jones. Phyllis was a Certified Nursing Assistant serving at the
Cedars, Heritage Hall and the University of Virginia Medical Center. In addition
to her mother, she is survived by her children, Claude William Shifflett Jr. and
his wife, Lisa, Gary Wayne Shifflett, all of Virginia Beach, Heath Zimmerman and
his wife Melissa of North Garden, Lisa Hunt and her husband, Tony, of
Gordonsville, Tonya Walton and her husband, Greg, of Scottsville, Toby Zimmerman
and his wife, Kim, of Dyke, and David Keyton, who is serving in Iraq and his
wife Miranda, of Dahlonega, Ga.; three sisters, Mary Frances Mangialetti of
Buckingham, Barbara Evans of Charlottesville, Shirley Wells of Colonial Heights;
two brothers, Richard "Pee Wee" Powell of Esmont and Gene Jones Jr. of Palmyra.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, David Paul Keyton, Claude William
Shifflett III, Amber Marie Shifflett, Kristie Ann Shifflett, Anthony Hunt,
Michael Hunt, Christopher Hunt, Alyssa Coleman, Britani Coleman, Dylan
Zimmerman, Kierstyn Zimmerman, Skyler Zimmerman, Dakota Zimmerman and Austin
Zimmerman; and two great-grandchildren, Claude William Shifflett IV and Brianna
Marie Shifflett. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30,
2005, in the chapel of the Hill & Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Sadler
officiating. Burial will follow in Alberene Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends who wish may send

Rosie Mae (Garrison) Keyton
was born on May 5, 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years,
Woodrow Wilson (Woody) Keyton, also four brothers, three sisters and her
parents. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Margaret Taylor of
Pennsylvania; one son, Edgar Lee, his wife Mary, and one grandson, Wilson Scott
Keyton, many nieces, nephews, cousins, some wonderful neighbors and special
close friends who deeply cared for her. A funeral service will be held on
Monday, March 7, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Teague Funeral Home, Charlottesville
followed by a committal at Mount Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

WOODROW WILSON KEYTON
Woodrow
"Woodie" Wilson Keyton, 95, of Crozet, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014,
at the comfort care unit of the Golden Living Nursing Home. Woodie was the
youngest child born on September 17, 1918, in Albemarle County, to the late
Lively Scott and Sarah Elizabeth Keyton. He was predeceased by six brothers,
Dave, Russell, John, Joseph, Homer, and Elwood; and a sister, Cecilia "Sissy"
Keyton Garrison. Woodie is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Rosie Mae
Garrison Keyton; a son, Edgar Lee Keyton and his wife, Mary; and a grandson,
Wilson Scott Keyton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins,
who loved him dearly. Woodie was a hard worker all of his life, and he dearly
loved to hunt and fish with his friends and family well into to his 80's.
Although he didn't have much of a formal education, he had one of the sharpest
minds around even to the very end. Everyone that knew Woodrow, especially into
his twilight years, grew to love him. After 95 years on this earth, Woodie is
now taking a well deserved rest and he someday will again rejoice with his
family and friends in Heaven. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev.
Steven Kline at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Teague Funeral Home
Chapel. Pallbearers include Sandy Fewell, Dudley Miller, Fred Williams, Bob
Tuman, Mike Sipe, and Mikey Sipe. Honorary Pallbearer, Tony Garrison. Interment
following service at Mt. Moriah Cemetary, White Hall, Virginia. Family will
receive friends Friday, January 10, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Teague Funeral
Home. A gathering of family and friends at the social hall of the Mt. Moriah
Church will be held after the interment at the church cemetery. Friends may the
