FREDRICK SIPE
Aubrey Fredrick "Fred" Sipe, 79 of Schuyler, died Thursday
September 21, 2017 in a Charlottesville Nursing Home. Born September 5, 1938 in
Albemarle County he was a son of the late Luis and Milinda Blackwell Sipe. In
addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Aubrey F. Sipe, Jr.
He was a retired self employed Logger and Saw Mill operator. He is survived by
his daughter; Cheryl Y. Graves, two sons; Raymond E. Sipe and Jonathan E. Sipe
all of Schuyler and the mother of his children Ruby Via Sipe. A gathering of
family and friends will be held on Sunday October 1st, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the
residence 1874 Glade Road, Schuyler, Va. to remember and celebrate Fred's life.

CHRISTOPHER ALLEN SIPE
Christopher "Mustard" Allen Sipe, 32, of Crozet, passed away at his residence on
Monday, March 19, 2018. He was born on September 26, 1985 in Waynesboro, VA to
Harold and Glenda Sipe of Crozet. Chris enjoyed fishing, hunting, singing and
MUSIC! He loved his family deeply and will be missed so much by all he knew. In
addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Winter; children, Ruby Lee
Isobel Sipe and Christopher Allen Gage Sipe, Jr.; grandmothers, Rachel Shifflett
and Ruby Irene Sipe; his Bubba, best friend and brother, Barry W. Sipe
(Stephanie); nieces and nephews, Mason Sipe and Mya, Tyler and Cory; step-son,
Traevon; special friend, Brandon Craig; and numerous aunts, uncles, family and
friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Thurman Shifflett and
Hubert Sipe. Services for Chris will be private. An online guestbook is

COFFMAN SIPE
Carol Coffman Sipe, 68, of Waynesboro went to be with her Lord
and savior on Friday, February 17, 2017. She leaves behind a wonderful husband
of a lifetime Earl Sipe, they grew from teenagers to adults together, Thank you
Earl for an exciting ride through life. Carol was the daughter of the late
Charles and Mildred Coffman of Elkton. She is survived by a brother Charles
Coffman II wife Mary Beth and his children Angela and Zachary, two Aunts Helen
Fort of Summerville, S.C. and Janet Coffman of Harrisonburg. Several cousins,
Betty Jo Lowry of Waynesboro, Betty Yoder of Churchville, Debbie Revercomb and
Greg Coffman of Harrisonburg, and Danny Wampler of Texas. "Nana" leaves behind
two daughters Cheryl and Aurora. Two sons, Chris and Jeremy, four grandchildren,
Jacob, Charlie, Gracie, and Alexis. Best friend Wanda Sutton, and Linda Gibson,
and friends at Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene. Carol loved
gardening painting and antiquing. She attended Community Fellowship Church of
the Nazarene and had grown closer to Jesus because of the wonderful people
there. She is happy now and at peace reunited with loved ones and waiting for
you. A funeral service will be held at Community Fellowship Church of the
Nazarene at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017, officiated by Pastors Jim
Corbin and George Yoder, visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Active pallbearers will be Kelly Wampler, Scott Sutton, B.J. Sipe, Tonny Sipe,
and Zachary Coffman. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday school class.
Interment will follow in the Middle River Church of the Brethren Cemetery in New
Hope at 1:00 p.m.

ELEANOR BERTHA SIPE STONE
PILOT MOUNTAIN -- Mrs. Eleanor Bertha Sipe Stone, age
94, of Pilot Mountain, died Saturday, August 8, 2015 at her home. She was born
February 15, 1921 in Rockingham, VA to the late Robert Francisco Sipe and Bertha
Ann Shifflett Sipe. Mrs. Stone was a retired registered nurse and alumni of
Stuart Circle Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She was a member of First United
Methodist Church of Pilot Mountain. She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, William Stewart Stone (Patricia) of Lenoir, NC and Terry
Franklin Stone (Laurie) of Naples, FL; daughter-in-law, Sallie Stone of Pilot
Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Kempton Stone, Christian Stone, Ryan Stone, Matthew
Stone, Andrew Stone, Noelle Stone Simmons, Sarah Stone Yopp; step-grandchild,
Mel Huffman; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Eunice June Hamilton of
Harrisonburg, VA and special friend, Faye Martin Snow. In addition to her
parents, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Isaac Frank Stone;
son, Daniel Joseph Stone; sisters, Gladys Grau, Ruby Garber and Anna Jean
Armstrong and brother, Fred Sipe. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday,
August 12, 2015 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Pilot Mountain.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday at the church from 1 p.m. until time of
service. Entombment will be private at Skyline Memory Gardens. In lieu of

SIPE SR.
Larry Gene Sipe, Sr., 56, died May 30, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial
Hospital. He was born September 23, 1959, in Albemarle County, son of the late
Walter H. and Dorothy A. Sipe. Also preceding him in death were sisters,
Virginia M. Carver and Mary F. Wood; brother, Eddie L. Sipe; nephew, Greg A.
Rosson; and great-nephew, Gregory A. Rosson. Larry is survived by sons, Larry G.
Sipe II (Jamie) of Pennsylvania, and Travis G. Sipe of Staunton; sisters,
Dorothy A. Hutchinson, Nancy Sipe, and Joyce Rosson, all of Waynesboro, Carolyn
S. Garrison of Charlottesville, and Margaret Reynolds of Clifton Forge; brother,
Walter H. Sipe Jr. of Pennsylvania; one very special granddaughter, Madison
Avery Sipe; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, in Rockgate Cemetery, Crozet, by the
Rev. Orvil Painter. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at
McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may

LOUISE FRANCIS LAM SIPE
Louise Francis Sipe, 83, of Elkton, went to be with her Lord and beloved husband
on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her
children. Mrs. Sipe was born on Sept. 22, 1934, in Rockingham County and was the
daughter of the late Irvin W. and Lottie A. (Gooden) Lam. Mrs. Sipe enjoyed
reading, cooking, gardening, shopping and bird watching. Above all else, she
enjoyed going to church and reading her Bible. She was employed at Shenandoah
Poultry for many years, as well as a homemaker, caretaker and devoted wife and
mother. She was also a dedicated woman of God and an active member of the Bible
Holiness Church in Elkton until her declining health beginning in 2016. On June
20, 1952, she married the love of her life, Robert Junior Sipe, who preceded her
in death on Feb. 15, 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she was
preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Lam, Randolph Lam and Junior Lam, and
three sisters, Joyce Rankin, Betty Matsen and Juanita Knight. Mrs. Sipe is
survived by five sons, Ronald L. Sipe and wife, Libby, of Ruckersville, Wayne J.
Sipe and wife, Laura, of Elkton, Carl D. Sipe and wife, Joyce, of Shenandoah,
Steven A. Sipe and Robert E. Sipe and wife, Laura, all of Elkton; two daughters,
Joyce A. Scott and husband, Dan, of Weyers Cave, and Wanda K. Shifflett and
husband, Larry, of Elkton; one brother, Alden Lam of New York; two sisters,
Brenda Ratcliff and Linda May, of Elkton; 19 grandchildren and 39
great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg from 6 to
8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on
Sunday at Bible Holiness Church in Elkton with the Revs. Ronald Sipe, L.D.
Savage and David Clinedinst officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet
Cemetery in McGaheysville. The family would like to give a special thanks to
Makayla Currence for her kindness and care during Mrs. Sipe's last days, as well
as neighbors and special friends Steve Knight and Danny and Linda Shifflett.

NANCY LEA SIPE
Nancy Lea Sipe went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2021. She was preceded in
death by her parents, the late Walter H. and Dorothy Sipe; three sisters,
Dorothy Hutchinson, Mary Wood and Virginia Carver; and three brothers, Walter H.
Sipe Jr., Eddie Sipe, and Larry Sipe Sr. She is survived by three sisters,
Margaret Reynolds of Clifton Forge, Joyce Rosson of Waynesboro, and Carolyn
Garrison of Charlottesville; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks
goes out to Amanda Braden, Brenda Birckhead, and Legacy Hospice of the
Shenandoah Valley. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 5,
2021, at the Rockgate Cemetery in Crozet, Va. The Rev. Orvil Painter will

NELLIE MARIE CROWE SIPE
Nellie Marie Crowe Sipe, 82, Oak Lea Nursing Home, Harrisonburg, died Saturday,
Nov. 21, 1998, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. Mrs. Sipe was
born July 19, 1916, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Ernest
B. and Anna Bell Shifflett Crowe. She lived most of her life in the Mount Sidney
and Staunton areas. She was a member of the Salvation Army in Staunton and was a
cook for Ralph’s Steak House in Staunton and a house. keeper at Ingleside Motel.
Her husband, Pete Joe Sipe, died in 1996. Surviving are one son, Henry Lee Sipe,
Stuarts Draft; six daughters, Geneva C. Burton, Fredericksburg, Ethel Lee Shover
and Nancy Ann Sipe, both of Staunton, Dorothy F. Molloham, Crimora, Betty
Miller, Carrier Mills, Ill., and Lois Jean Rodeffer, Broadway; two sisters,
Janie Bell Knight and Ida Carroll, both of Dayton; four brothers, Mervin H.
Crowe, Mount Crawford, Claude C. Crowe and Earl J. Crowe, both of Mount Sidney,
and Harold L. Crowe, Weyers Cave; and a number of grandchildren, great.

a graveside service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Raders Lutheran Church Cemetery in

ROBERT FRED SIPE
Robert Fred Sipe, 82, of Marietta,
Ga., died of an apparent heart attack Jan. 16 at his home. Mr. Sipe served 22
years in the Navy and worked for Lockheed Aircraft Co., from which he retired in
1973. He was a member of the fleet reserve. He was born May 1, 1923, in Elkton
and was a son of Bertha A. Sipe of Weyers Cave and the late Robert F. Sipe. Mr.
Sipe was raised by his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Sipe of Elkton. On
Feb. 3, 1946, he married the former Agnes Lam, who survives. In addition to his
wife, mother, aunt and uncle, he is survived by two daughters, Anna Mae Sipe of
Roanoke and Janie Halaschek of Marietta; a son. Robert F. Sipe Jr. of
Centerville, Ga.; five sisters, Gladys Grau of Edgewater, Md., Ruby Garber of
Waynesboro, Eleanor Stone of Pilot Mountain, N.C., Eunice June Hamilton of
Weyers Cave and Anna Jean Armstrong of Penn Laird; and six grandchildren. The
funeral was held Sunday in Marietta. Mr. Sipe was buried with military honors at
Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
VIRGINIA MAE SIPE GLENDYE CARVER
Virginia Mae Sipe Glendye Carver, 61, went
to be home with her Lord on Monday, April 1, 2013. Born on October 30, 1951,
to the late Walter H. and Dorothy Busby Sipe, she was also preceded in death
by her husbands, George F. Glendye in 1987 and J. Jack Carver in 1999; a
brother, Eddie L. Sipe; and a nephew, Gregory Rosson. Virginia was a simple
lady, who didn't have a lot, but cared for her family and loved her children
and grandchildren with all her heart. She loved to laugh and talk and was the
center of her family's world. She will truly be missed by all. Surviving are
her daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Jeffrey Birckhead of Crozet and
Bessie and Orvil Painter of Waynesboro; sisters and spouses, Joyce Rosson and
Richard Lawson, Margaret and Josie Reynolds, Mary and Glen Wood, Dorothy
Hutchinson, Nancy Sipe, and Carolyn Garrison and soulmate Ron Houchens;
brothers. Walter Sipe Jr. and Larry J. Sipe; grandchildren, Natasha Daughtry,
and Kayla and Justin Birckhead; great-grandson, Kayvan Daughtry; and numerous
nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on
Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery by
Pastor Randy Miller. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Baber, Ron McDaniel, Timmy
Reynolds, Daniel Sprouse, and David and Greg Wood. Nieces and nephews will be
honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends fron 6 until 8 p.m. on
Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro. Memorial
