Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 6961 Offered on 5 Oct 1781 survey dated 22 May 1786, sealed by to all to whom these presents shall come, Greetings. Know ye that by virtue and in consideration of part of a Land Office Treasury Warrant, #6,961, offered the 5th day of October by the said Commonwealth to William Leak a certain tract or parcel of land containing 117 acres by survey bearing date the 22nd day of May 1786 lying and being in the County of Albemarle on the waters of Seales and Carols Creek on both sides of Three Notched Road, and bounded as followeth: to wit: With its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said William Leak and his heirs for ever. In witness whereof the hand and caused the State seal of the said Commonwealth to be affirmed at Richmond in the 7th day of July in the year of our Lord, 1791, and of the commonwealth the 16th. Albemarle County Surveyor's Book #1 part 2 page 161 contains a plat of this survey dated 22 May 1786. Commonwealth Grant Book 47 p454-455, 27 February 1801, of the Commonwealth the 25th [Year], to all to whom these presents shall Come Greeting Know Ye, That by virtue of a Land office Treasury Warrant #3,979, issued the 17th day of March 1780 These is Granted by the said Commonwealth unto Mark Leak a Certain tract or parcel of land Containing 21 acres by survey bearing date the 13th of December 1798, lying and being in the County of Albemarle County, on waters of Green Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Adjoining: pointers corner to Benjamin Harris and John Leak.

15 March 1744/45, Zachary Taylor, Whereas by one Patent under the Great Seal of this our Colony & Dominion of Virginia bearing Date the 14th Day of September 1728 there was Granted unto Robert Ballard one certain Tract or Parcel of Land containing 1,000 Acres lying and being formerly in the County of Spotsylvania now Orange on the North Side of the Northanna and Bounded as followeth (to wit) Which said Tract or Parcel of Land was Granted on Condition of Cultivating and Improving as in the said Patent is expressed And Whereas the said Robert Ballard hath failed to make such Cultivation and Commander in Chief of our said Colony and Dominion and hath obtained a Grant for the same Land Therefore Know ye that for divers good Causes and Considerations but more especially con and in consideration of the sum of L. 5 of good and Lawfull Money for our Use paid to our Receiver General of our Revenues in this our Colony and Dominion.
