Dear Wife,
I again take my pen in hand to let you no that I am well at this time and I hope when you git these few lines tha will find you all well. I receiv your letter today and was glad to her from you and that you was all well. I thort you had quit wrightin for I hadent got a letter for along time from you till today. I wrote you a letter day before yesterday and I rote in hit if you had quit righting to me to let me no and I wood git
someboddy to right that wood right, but when I got this letter today hit is all rite and glad anuf I was to git hit for I wanted to her from you and the children so bad. I am mity glad that you got that money ___ up. You got ten dollars more but that hante nothing, you orter have twenty more. So git all you can from them. I was vary glad to git the needles and thread you sent in this letter. that come in a vary good time for I
needed them mity bad. I cant half wright this morning for we have got orders to march and tha are so much fuss excightment that I cant half right and I was on picket last night and I am sleepy this morning that I cant hardley hold my eyes open but I am bound to right a few lines. I cant tell you whar we will march two but we will go down fother south but donte stop righting. Direct your letters the same way only put on them to follow the Regiment. I am in a mity hurry so I cant right much this time.
You sed you got a likeness with two dollars in hit but that hante the one that I started withe the money that got lost. The one that got lost had 50 dollars in hit and I had one my gut and belts and was standing up. The one that you got I had taken about three weeks ago and I forgot to wright in the last letter about hit. I am mity glad that you got hit. I now had three picturs taken and you got two.
