Dear wife I take my pen in hand this morning to drop you a few lines to let you no that I am well well (sic) at presant and I hope when you Receve these few lines tha will you (sic) all well and harty. I receve your letter of the 10th of this month and I was glad to her from you and the Children to her that you was all well. Mima I hante much to wright at this time all is quiet at this time all the troubble is nothing to eat yit scarcely I hante had a mouthful of bread sence yesterday at dinner and only one cracker then I havent had a thing to day but to day is our draw day so I am awating with pleashure tell I git some thing. I hav starve so long that I hav got nearley use to it. Mima I donte want you to greave your Self a bout me for I will stand it tell my time is out if I can and I think I can if it donte git no worse but if it gets enny worse we will
have to starve but I hope to god it will git better times before I rite you another letter. It seemes to me if I was at home this morning at your table that I cood eat all day. O how bad I want to be thar with you and the children. Mima I sent you ten dollars in a letter and if it gits home safe I will send you ten more in the next letter for I hav got it in my pocket. If you git it right soon and let me no for I will be uneasy about
it tell I her from it. Mima you rote that you heard that we had a nother fight. We did hav a rite smart fight but I got through safe with out being hurt and I hope and pray to god that I will git through all of them safe so I can git home to you and the children. That is all I want but Mima donte greave your self a bout me for I liv in hops of a better day some time. When you git that money use it to the best advantage for you and the children and I will send you more in my next letter and tell little Jonna that I will whip Mariah if she hits him enny moore and I will send him anuf money in the next letter to git him a para boots and I want you to git them. Mima I want you to let me no if you ar satisfide whar you live. If you are you had better stay thar tell I come home and I want you to git yourself and the children good warm close and I want the little girls to go to school ever chanse tha git. Mima I went to town yesterday to try to by something to eat but I codent git one thing so I went back as hungry as ever. I was mity glad to her that the sitizens was so good to the soldiers wives but tha ort to be. I wish tha wood draft ever man in Ohio that is able to go.
