    Know all men by these Presents That I, Thomas M. Coleman, of Napa County, State of California, have made, consituted, and appointed and by these presents do make, consitute and appoint John L. Coleman of Rockingham County in the State of Virgnia, my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name, place and stead to ask for, demand, receive and take all necessary steps to obtain and recover all money or other personal property belonging to or due or to be come due to me or to which I now have any right or claim in the State of Virginia in whose hands power the same may be or from wheresoever due including any and all money coming to me from the estate of my deceased father Thomas Coleman, or of my deceased mother S. Coleman, the widow of my said Father, and upon receipt of such property or money, to give such receipt or receipts, release or releases in my name as may be proper. Giving and Granting unto my said Attorney, full power and authority to do and perform all and every act and thing whatsoever required and necessary to be done in and about the premises, as fully, to all intents and purposes, as I might or could do if personally present, with full power of substitution and revocation, hereby satisfying and confirming all that my said attorney or his substitute shall do or cause to be done by virtue hereof. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of March, one thousand, eight hundred and seventy one.

    NOTES:
    Marriage records of Albemarle County, Va. show Saluda Snow marrying Thomas Coleman on 19 October 1816 with the bond being posted by Henry Davis Snow and Davis Snow as a witness. The Orange County, Va. marriage records show the marriage on 23 October 1816. [ed. note: this may be another one of those marriage that were filed in both counties by George Bingham.] The Henry Davis Snow who gave the bond for her marriage may have been an older, until now, unknown brother while the Davis Snow who was a witness was John Davis Snow, a younger brother who later moved to Kentucky and was there known as Davis Snow.
